CHARACTERISTICS

WATERING

Irrigation water should be supplied providing for deep penetration with in-frequent application to maximize plant performance and nutrient efficiency. In the active growing season, CitraBlue™ needs about one inch of water a week. Take rainfall into consideration. It is important to not overwater. As temperatures drop, grasses don’t need as much irrigation.

MOWING

An established CitraBlue™ lawn should be mowed to between 2.5 and 3.5 inches tall. When mowing, do not remove more than 1/3 of the leaf blade at a time. If more than 1/3 of the blade is needed to be mowed, consider multiple cuts over three to five days. Mow less in cooler Fall months. CitraBlue™ lawns should be kept at slightly higher than normal heights to encourage deeper root growth for Winter.

MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

♦  Apply pre-emergent herbicide in the Spring to cut down on Summer weeds.

♦  For yards with previous insect problems, treat lawn with broad-spectrum insecticide in the Spring.

♦  Apply fungicide in the Fall as this will help the grass enter colder months in healthier condition. Also treat with broad-spectrum insecticide in the Fall. If you haven’t had previous issues with winter weeds, you can forgo herbicide in the Fall.
